As a medical doctor, most of your checkups will take place inside of an office. Whether you operate your own medical practice or if you work for a major hospital a sterilized practice room will be the most common way to see patients. Another way that you can see patients is to become a concierge doctor. Concierge doctors serve specific patients and in some cases are known as the neighborhood doctor. If you are interested in becoming a concierge OBGYN, here are some things that you need to set up your practice.

1. Carry a portable ultrasound machine

As a traveling and housecall OBGYN, the majority of your patients are likely to be pregnant women. Many of these women may want a checkup when they are no longer easily mobile while others may be too busy to schedule an appointment for regular prenatal care. Being able to see them in the comfort of their own home will set their mind at ease and keep them healthy. In order to be able to properly check on the baby, purchase an ultrasound machine that you can keep in your vehicle. This along with a heart monitor will allow you to check up on the baby and see its development.

2. Keep a delivery box

If you are visiting pregnant women at any phase of pregnancy, there is a chance that you will have to deliver a baby. So that you are not caught off guard, you will need to bring your obstetrics tools along with you. Create a delivery box of all of the items that you will need to deliver a baby. Keep hospital extras inside of this box such as baby blankets, a hospital gown, and a mask, hair net, and shoe net for yourself. A brand-new sheet should also be included so that you can keep the environment around the delivery as clean as possible.

3. Find tool sterilizing equipment

After each appointment, you will need to properly sterilize equipment. Purchase the proper sterilizing cleaning chemicals, distilled water, and towels that are found in any hospital. Keep these with you so that you can clean your tools before and after checking up on a patient. Properly sterilizing your tools will be the key to keeping patients healthy and making sure that your tools last. Keep your tools in an appropriate and airtight box to make sure that no bacteria or other issues can develop when the tools are sitting and not in use.

About Me
Creating A Healthier Life

After struggling with my health for years and years, I realized that something had to change. I stopped relying so much on my multi-vitamin, and started spending a lot of time eating right and exercising. It was really strange to see how much those simple things affected my body, and before I knew it, I was feeling so much better. I also worked with my health provider to choose a plan that worked for me. He also uncovered a few medical issues I didn't realize I was suffering with, and it was great to start things off on the right foot.
